White Fingernails

Look carefully at your fingernails and you may notice subtle variations in texture or color such as shades of white or red, and their surface exfoliation. You may not know, but your nails provide valuable clues for your health. A healthy nail is pink fleshed appearance, without spots or stripes and without being exfoliated. The moment your nails do not belong to the description above, you should think that there is a possibility that your body should have different problems.

Not only do your white fingernails indicate a lack of vitamins and minerals, but they may indicate various diseases such as hepatitis or cardiovascular disease. There are also great opportunities for "brutal" change in terms of nail appearance to show that there is an infection or something more serious than that, diseases such as lupus (a disease of the skin, mucous membranes and tissues) or anemia. Some doctors try to detect anemia on patients' nails carefully. "Pale" or too white fingernails may indicate that they have a low amount of red blood cells.
