Fingernail Design
Weak, short and brittle nails... every woman's nightmare. In order to cover this flaw, many on them buy acrylic fingernails. They look natural and may have any color and shape. Acrylic nails are often the best choice for those who are biting their nails or who just have troubles in letting grow their own natural nails. Fingernail design is so in now.
But what is to be done when removing acrylic fingernails? First of all, you have to know that this process, shouldn't be a painful one, either you do it in a salon or at home. Acrylic nails are glued on your nails, so don't pull, bite or pry them trying to get them off. You will cause serious irreversible damages to your natural nails. Removing acrylic fingernails may be a little too expensive if you go to a salon, while doing it at home doesn't cost much, but requires only a little knowledge.

You can do it in two ways. You can a buy a professional nail removal kit or by using the ingredient that you are so often advised not to use: acetone.
In case you decide you don't want a kit, you will need:
-filer
-clipper
-nail buffer
-olive oil or hand cream
-cotton balls
-petroleum jelly
-acetone
-towel
You can start now, but remember be very careful and have a lot of patience. Removing your acrylic fingernails will take a little time, so be sure you have it.
To prevent spills in the room, lay out some newspaper pages. You will need also paper towels to dry your hands, wipe off the nail polish and put on the fake nails as they are being removed.

Cut your nails as short as you can, in order to take them off easier.
File off gel or nail polish from the acrylic nails.
Apply petroleum jell on your fingers (and not on your nails) to prevent skin drying out.
Take a bowl and pour in it an entire bottle of acetone. To make the procedure easier and faster, you may warm it in the microwave. Soak your nails in the nail polish remover for about 15 minutes. You will notice that fake nails slowly come apart. Peel them carefully and soak your fingers again. Finally you will succeed peeling them off entirely. If a piece of acrylic still remained on your nail, do not scrape it. Be patient, it will grow off.
Remove the remains of glue with cotton balls soaked in acetone.
After you've finished wash your hands with plenty water and then apply a deep moisturizer or olive oil. It will hydrate your fingers, after soaking them in acetone.
Use the buffer to smooth your nails. They will look pretty rough when removing the acrylic.
After done, if the bowl gained a foggy look, throw it away!
But remember, fingernail design is a good option whenever you feel life is boring and you need a change.
