Fingernail Clippers Handles
If it is too big you may end up cutting your nails too short or injuring the skin around them. You must buy special nail cutters for children. In this case fingernail clipper handles are enclosed in plastic. The design shouldn’t be too complicated, so that you can easily use the instrument. Three types of clippers are available on the market: the plier type, the compound lever type and the push button model. All of them have usually incorporated a file and a tool for removing dirt.

Protect the fingernail clippers for bacteria and germs and keep it clean. After using, wash it in warm water with liquid soap in it. Let it there for 20 minutes, rinse it and dry it well to preserve the metal. With an alcohol disinfectant wipe, clean it once again including the fingernail clipper handles. Give a special attention to the cutting edges. Place the dried instrument into a plastic bag, secure it and store it in a safe place. Keep it away from children reach. If you noticed that your nail cutter is rusted or dull, throw it away and buy another one.
Clip your nails, after you cleaned and dried them. Although often recommended, don’t soak your nails in water before getting started. The nails become too soft and they can easy tear when being clipped. It is better if you just wash your hands. Open the clippers by sliding aside the handle. Position the blade over the nail white and push it down. Cut the nail from one motion. Smoothen the corners of the nail with a file. Do this entire operation in a place with good light and close to a waste-basket.
Decide the shape you want for your nails. You may want to cut them straight, leaving a bit of the white tip. Or you may like really short cut nails, with a round shape and no white tip. The most important thing, in any case, is to pay attention not to cut the nail below its quick. Otherwise, you risk to cause infections, bleeding or severe injuries. Simply depress skin away from nail and carefully press down the nail clippers, to be sure there is no skin caught between its jaws. Nail clippers have their bad parts too. You cannot control the depth when using them, so there a risk you cut your nails too short. The nails must be filed after being clipped, because the cutter leaves sharp parts.
